I never liked running, and up until recently, I had never run a full mile in my life. I just never understood the point. I hated everything about running--sweating, having to wear 3 bras, and I just didn't find it very fun......smh. Running sucked to me. The main thing in my way was my own self consciousness and insecurities. I over-think a lot of things, but me running was an image that I just was not willing to give any bystander.
Since that post, I have joined a gym, and maintained a regular work out regimen that includes about 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week of basic cardio vascular exercise combined with 30-45 minutes of strength training. The cardio routine consists of a 15 minute warm up on the stationary bike, 15 minutes or so incline power walk on the treadmill, followed by a 10-15 minutes (1-2) mile run.
I have been really steady with my work outs for about 4 months now, and I definitely have noticed quite a few changes that I can only credit to my new found addiction to my long time foe turned friend--running.
